Assistant Accountant

The ideal candidate will be key to Antoun supporting the Finance team in delivering month end objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Monthly journals, accruals, and reversals
  • Monthly account reconciliations and balance sheet
  • Maintaining the company wide fixed asset register
  • Weekly payroll entry into third party payroll system (ADP)
  • Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly BAS, PAYG and Payroll Tax
  • Assist Accounts Payable with finalising EOM processing
  • Backup capability for Accounts Payable; and
  • Any other requirements and requests from time to time
You Will Assist With:
  • Assist with year-end audits
  • End of Month reporting
  • Yearly budgets
  • Preparation of annual accounts  
  • Assist with year-end audits
Skills and Experience:

With a strong desire to learn and grow, you will have:

    • Minimum 2-3 years’ accounting experience in a similar role within a SME or equivalent
    • Advanced excel skills
    • Experience using MYOB Advanced, Concur AP and ADP will be advantageous
    • High level of attention to detail and proven financial and analytical skills
    • Solution oriented team player who can self-manage, commitment to quality, results driven with internal customer focus
    • Demonstrated professional communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
    • Possess a collaborative style that will build strong relationships; and
    • Be a hands on and dynamic individual
    • Willingness to step up, be accountable and own responsibilities
Qualifications:
  • Accounting Degree (or nearing completion) or
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Business is preferable 
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Current and valid Australian Driver’s Licence
