Head of Business Development

You will be an accomplished people leader and have the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of any organisation and be able to demonstrate excellence in strategic and targeted selling.

You will have an extensive background in technical solution selling and have the ability to provide solutions when selling our value proposition by fostering new business and managing existing client relationships for the purpose of increasing revenue opportunities aligned to our corporate strategic objectives.

The Head of Business Development is also required to manage a team and oversee all things sales and business development including our external bag product range, and all distribution and storage. This role is also responsible for creating and rolling out our national sales and business development strategy to support the strategic growth of the business

Responsibilities:
  • Management of the BDM and Sales Team including establishing clear expectations and measurements for the performance of the team. As the Head of Business Development, you will also be responsible to oversee their development and training requirements that continues to add value to the business.
  • Key to the success of the role is the development and maintenance of the partner relationships with our current and potential clients, ensuring the partner value proposition is compelling. A strategic account conversion is also included in the overall budget targets for this role.
  • Accountable for managing clients and potential prospects within the NSW state region. This includes ensuring all business development activities are completed in accordance with expectations for other state territory’s.
  • As a member of the Senior Management Team, work collaboratively with other senior managers to develop and implement the company’s sales strategy/plan in line with the overall company Strategy and Business Plans.
  • Responsible for the pricing, positioning, promotion and placement of the company’s products and services.
  • Focus on delivering the required revenue and gross margin to meet defined financial targets.
  • Ensure employees are equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and training to enable them to meet the sales strategy. A strong mentoring experience and orientation towards the team will be required in this role.
  • Accountable for business development P&L and forecasts including preparation of monthly reporting to the Executive Leadership Team.
  • As a trusted advisor, partner with clients and prospects to solve problems by developing innovative tailored sales solutions.
  • Proactively review current market intelligence together with CRM business analytics to underpin the company strategy.
  • Prepare and present to varied audiences using clear communication and presentations skills on key initiatives and construction activities that sell our business and our offering.
  • Proactively ensuring Antoun has a seat at the table in discussions amongst major civil infrastructure bodies and regulatory authorities.
  • Instill a culture that encourages innovative ways in which the business can improveme project pipeline and project win rate.
  • Oversee the growth strategy for the bag and small product division of the business to meet growth targets. This will include developing proper logistical solutions that align with our clients needs and maximise our gross margin potential.
Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstration and experience in leading a sales or business development team including implementing structures to monitor performance and continual improvement of the team.
  • Demonstrated solution selling technical sales experience in civil infrastructure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a solid network of industry contacts that has been acquired and skills to acquire new clients.
  • A track record in complex solution selling in a B2B environment.
  • Attention to detail, commitment to quality, results-driven and customer-focused
  • You will be a self-starter and motivated by establishing contacts and winning work.
  • Demonstrated professional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM’s.
  • Have a collaborative style that will build strong relations.
  • Hands-on and dynamic individual.
Qualifications:
  • Civil Engineering Degree or Business Tertiary qualifications (Desirable)
  • 10 + years of demonstrated technical experience in civil infrastructure. (Preferred)
