Head of Project Management

The Head of Project Management is responsible for managing all projects and ensuring that projects are delivered to the required cost and program requirements to deliver on Antoun’s financial goals and targets. This is a leadership role that coordinate with senior management to create processes and systems to ensure effective project management and implementation across the organization.

You will be an accomplished leader of people and projects, an effective communicator, and be able to demonstrate excellence in dealing with highly regulated industry standards and guidelines. You will be detail oriented, with financial acumen, and have a demonstrable background in project planning, project scope definition, and resource management. A construction or engineering background would be highly regarded, as would experience in process development and management.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide management, leadership, and strategic vision in creation of a new Project Management team.
  • Coordinate with Senior Management to create processes and systems to ensure effective project management and implementation across the organization.
  • Direct the activities of the Project Management team and determine how team resources should be allocated across projects.
  • Create training and capacity building process and training modules to promote project management best practices. Communicate with Senior Management on successes, issues and lessons learned from implementation and share these across the organization.
  • Build a Community of Practice for Good Project Management across the organization involving Project Managers and operations and finance staff.
  • Work closely with the Head of Project Delivery to ensure the project teams are High performing and are working together to manage ongoing project performance and address challenges in a collaborative manner.
  • Serve as primary Project Management support assisting Project Managers deliver successful project implementation and results.
  • Guide efficient and effective project start-up and close-down mechanisms. This includes management of the project through the handover from the estimating team through to the project delivery team.
  • Track project annual budgets and forecasts while working with Project Managers to explain variance, and propose and take steps for programmatic course corrections when necessary. Review Monthly Project Reports to ensure strong monthly financial oversight.
  • Travel to project sites in the field as necessary to assist in project management. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with our key clients.
  • Provide leadership for the Senior Commercial Manager in ensuring that Antoun risks are managed appropriately when engaging in commercial contracts with its clients and sub contractors.
  • Provide leadership to the Senior Contracts Administrator to ensure that the Antoun claims and cost tracking process is robust to avoid leakage of gross margin potential and that we are meeting our contractual obligations.
  • Lead the team in managing any contractual disputes.
Qualifications:

Essential 

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering or Buidling Construction 
  • 10+ years experience in delivery of civil infrastructure projects in various sectors
  • Sound knowledge of ISO accredited safety, environment and quality systems 

Desirable 

  • Business Management qualifications and expereince 
  • Professional Management Professional (PMP) accreditati

The ideal candidate must be flexible with travel as we acquire projects nationally.
