Site Manager

As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality projects while ensuring safety standards are upheld and the project adheres to set deadlines.  You will take a hands-on approach to the day – to – day management of site-based activities and will be involved in key planning activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Understanding, developing, and adhering to project programs and ensuring the process is followed from start to end. 
  • Liaise between all parties to ensure efficient work between employees and sub-contractors 
  • Be competent in forward planning and co-ordinate with the project team, subcontractors and client stakeholders. 
  • Work in conjunction with the nominated project engineer and Safety manager to define the safety risks and associated controls to ensure that all staff and sub-contractors are safe on the work site.
  • Responsible for ensuring all staff on a jobsite have been inducted and have appropriate and current accreditation to operate plant and equipment
  • Support the project engineer in performing random WHS audits on a worksite and undertaking work to close out all corrective actions relevant to your role.
  • Ensure appropriate use of Upvise to capture any relevant safety checklist, documents and audits.
  • Ensure the highest level of communication is maintained throughout the project. 
  • Implement company IMS processes including Toolbox Talks, prestart(s), inductions and inspection checklists. 
  • Interpret plans and drawings, use of levels, transferring levels and set out points from drawings onto base footings. 
  • Construct the project under the guidelines of the ITP(s), observing relevant QA checks, inspections, specifications and hold points. 
  • Manage site activities in accordance with SWMS. Develop and update SWMS as required with changing conditions and methodology. 
  • Manage daily cost tracking and cost control in conjunction with the project team. 
  • Participate in the monitoring of project expenditure including compiling dockets and supporting the submission of variations, extensions of time, progress claims and notice of events. 
  • Conduct all aspects of Surveying using the latest technology including GPS, LPS, laser levels and similar. 
  • Supervise and direct the operating of machinery and carrying out of manual tasks as required. 
  • Overseeing works, maintaining site diaries, retrieval of materials from project managers, and ensuring employees and clients are happy with the required works. 
  • To co-ordinate all trades and other works necessary to ensure the compliance with the program and quality requirements of the head contract and completion of works on or before the completed date stipulated. 
  • To prepare and or coordinate setouts for all trades. 
  • To order materials and to instruct sub-contractors with the consent of the project manager and in coordination with the project engineer. 
  • To act as the agent of Antoun with respect to verbal communications to the client in the absence of the director and or project manager 
  • To attend all site and office meetings as required. 
  • To carry out all site Safety, Quality and Environmental Inductions, and implementation of Site Safety Management Plans and Safe Work Method Statements. 
  • To maintain the site, including all amenities, access and access fencing, environmental controls and signage in a clean and tidy state at all times. 
  • Proactively communicate all relevant information to the project manager. 
  • To maintain a written site diary to be accessible on site to the director and project manager at all times. 
  • To responsibly and efficiently allocate Company labour and machines in consultation with the Project Managers, project engineers and plant and equipment allocations officer
Skills:
  • Proven track record – 5 years minimum working for a Civil or Construction company.
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 
  • Experienced plant operator
Qualifications:
  • Hold appropriate civil or construction qualifications and/or trade background 
  • Full working rights in Australia 
  •
