Antoun was contracted by Central Coast Council to
undertake the second stage of the $2.8million coastal
foreshore and rehabilitation works. This stage involved
redeveloping the seawall to include stairs, two concrete
ramps and a disability access ramp, as well as upgrading
the beachfront walkway and general landscaping.
Avoca Beach, NSW
$1 – $2m
The scope of works included
- Reconstructing the existing small rock wall with a new and more
substantial rock revetment
- Incorporating two sandstone bleacher sets within the new rock
revetment to provide stepped seating
- Constructing two concrete beach access ramps for Surf Life
Savers and beach vehicles. A third ramp was installed using fibre
reinforced plastic for mobility access ramps.
- New beachfront concrete pavement and street furniture
including: showers and drinking fountains.
Although coastal settings and tidal conditions can be tricky, Antoun’s project management methodology ensured successful delivery.
Stakeholders including business owners, beach goers, council members and residents were all considered when working to minimise impact and account for sensitive environmental conditions.
