Off-Leash Dog Park at
Shale Hills, Parklands

Shale Hills has the largest off leash dog park in the Southern Hemisphere. Antoun was engaged in developing the gated area, which includes state-of-the-art agility and self-guided training facilities, as well as amenities for both owner and dog. The project aimed to produce an outdoor facility to be enjoyed by all.

The scope of works included

  • Initial works for the project included cut and fill in a 18,000m3 area as well as the relocation of a Sydney Water main and LV pillar
  • Construction included the instalment of road pavement, deco granite carparks, over 1km of footpath, seated and curved retaining walls, light poles and a roundabout intersection
  • Finishing works involved the installation of various kinds of dog play equipment, sensory gardens, fencing, and water amenities
  • Large areas of turf were hydroseeded, and over 340 trees were planted in the final 40,000m2 landscaping development on site

The Results

Antoun kept dogs in mind when producing the multi purpose off-leash dog park, retaining a natural aesthetic synonymous with the surrounding parklands. The development strived to create a useable space for the community to enjoy, and the dog park allots a unique outdoor area encouraging public use.
