QANTAS Widebody Maintenance Bay
Antoun were engaged by Qantas to construct the wide body maintenance bay at the Sydney Jet Base, which needed to be durable enough to accommodate A380 aircraft. As these works impacted on the air-side security of the airport, they required curfew and security logistics to maintain the integrity of the airside security system during construction works.

The scope of works included
- Bulk earthworks and remediation of the site
- Upgrade and installation of underground fuel tanks and stormwater catchment tanks
- Construction of concrete pavement hardstand to accommodate A380 aircraft
- Construction of a new LAME carpark, guardhouse, airside aircraft pavement, retaining walls and fencing
- Diversion of Lancastrian Drive
- Drainage, lighting and electrical services
The results
The project was completed on time and on budget in difficult operational conditions. The completed scope of works were delivered with no security incidents and minimal disruption to airport operations
